Leicester City star Jeffry Schlupp will arrive in the country to join Ghana’s early preparations for the 2014 World Cup on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old will miss one day of the Black Stars’ non-residential training for June’s finals in Brazil which starts today at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Schlupp is coming off an impressive season in the English Championship where he helped Leicester City secure a return to the Premier League.

The natural striker played 26 games in the league and scored a goal from his converted left-back position for the Foxes.

He earned a place in Ghana’s provisional 26-man squad for the World Cup on the back of his impressive run with Leicester.

Schlupp is staging a return to the Black Stars team for the first time in almost three years.

He made his debut for Ghana in an international friendly match against Gabon in 2011 and has since not been involved with the Black Stars.
