Kwadwo Asamoah says the Black Stars are determined to make Ghana a proud nation as the 2014 World Cup in Brazil approaches.

The Africans are currently holding out their pre-World Cup training exercise in the Netherlands.

Coach Kwesi Appiah has been trimming the rough edges of his team ahead of Saturday’s high profile international friendly against Holland in Rotterdam.

Ghana will lock horns with old foes USA and Germany as well as Portugal in a difficult group G ties during the World Cup in Brazil.

There are many who feel the hope of the African continent will rest on the West Africans following their progressive outings in the last two editions of the tournament.

There is increasing pressure on the team as they prepare to take on the rest of the world but the Juventus ace insists they are primed to make Ghanaians and for that matter Africans happy and proud.

“We are going there with one aim. We want to do our best and win the cup. The main target is to make our fans happy and proud,”he said

“We know there is a huge level of expectations on us but we have been here before and did something special and so we’ll build on that.

“It’s not going to be a stroll in the park for us but we have the men who have played at this top level before.

“We’re not going to be intimidated at all. We play with these same players week-in-week-out and so there are no fears at all.

“We just have to get our rhythm and team spirit right and spot on and then we’ll see how it goes. Africa will be proud of us."

The Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah will use the friendly against the European giants to assess which players will be on board the plane to Brazil.
