Ghana defender Jonatham Mensah says he is looking forward to winning all his defensive battles against any player – including Cristiano Ronaldo - at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars will be coming up against acclaimed attacking teams at June’s finals in Brazil having been drawn against USA, Germany and Portugal.

Many soccer pundits are predicting tough times for the Black Stars in their third successive campaign at the World Cup especially with a fearful roster of players within the ranks of group opponents.

The Black Stars are expected to struggle in particular against world best player Cristiano Ronaldo when they come up against Portugal in the final group game.

But defender Jonathan Mensah says he determined to win all battles as a defender to help the Black Stars excel once more again on the world stage.

“I would like to win any battle against any kind of player I come up against,” the Evian TG man told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We are playing against the best eleven players that have been selected by other national teams and therefore I always look to do the best for my team.”

Ghana will open its World Cup campaign against the USA on June 16 in Natal before taking on Germany and Portugal in subsequent Group G games.
