Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah caught up with compatriot Jordan Ayew to cheer him up after Evian TG condemned Sochaux to relegation in the French top flight.

Jordan’s Sochaux were hammered 3-0 at home by Evian TG in the deciding final game of the season to seal their return to Ligue 2.

The international teammate of the on loan Olympique Marseille star, Jonathan Mensah was in full time action for Evian as the side won the vital game to remain in the top fight.

Jordan who has been in good form in recent weeks had hoped to power Sochaux towards the retention of their top flight status but it was never to be.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele was left in tatters as Evian proved too strong for them to handle even before their home fans.

The massively disappointed Jordan was however given a timely emotional upliftment by his victorious international teammate after the game.

Jonathan Mensah who excelled in defence for Evian posted a picture on his Twitter page with a smiley Jordan.

Both players are expected to arrive in Ghana this week to begin preparations with the Black Stars towards the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
