Ex-Ghana international Joe Addo believes the return of midfielder Rabiu Mohammed will serve as massive boost to the squad ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

The 24-year-old gave coach Kwesi Appiah a respite after returning from three months injury lay-off to play a part for Kuban Krasnodar in their 2-0 win at Rubin Kazan over the weekend.

Rabiu has been an integral member of the squad since he excelled heavily for the Black Stars at the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa and Addo believes his return will serve as real boost to the squad ahead of the global showpiece.

“It’s a huge boost for him. I mean, you look at all our qualifiers up until this time. Rabiu has been an integral part of our back six. The only game he missed was against Egypt,” Addo told Power FM.

“Coming back is a big boost for Kwasi Appiah. We have to look at his fitness level and his consistency but it’s a big boost.”

The Africans have drawn USA, Germany and Portugal in group G.
