Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan failed to equal or even surpass his 31 goal tally set in the UAE top flight with Al Ain this term.

The Black Stars captain finished the season with 29 goals despite playing each and every single game for the Boss coincidentally in the first season they failed to win the title since Gyan arrived from Sunderland.

The 28-year-old hit the back of the net a staggering 31 times in his second season in the UAE where he missed four games.

Gyan had banged in 22 goals in his debut campaign in the league which was enough to win him the top goalscorer award.

He extended this record by scoring nine more goals the following season to deservedly retain his individual award but however failed to keep pace with his amazing trend this season.

Gyan however managed to achieve and exceed his centurion of goals for the club but could crucially fail in achieving a hat trick of the individual award of top goalscorer.

Al Wahda’s Sebastian Tagliabue could sneak in if he scores four goals in the final league match at already relegated Al Shaab on Sunday.

The ex Sunderland hitman will however join the Black Stars camp to prepare for the 2014 World Cup in bouyant mood following another bumper harvest of goals in the Arabian Gulf League with or without retaining his individual accolade.
