2014 World Cup: Ghana's Chief Imam calls for prayers for Black Stars

The National Chief Imam Shiekh Dr Nuhu Sharubutu, has urged all regional, districts and local Imams as well as church leaders and men of God in the country to offer continuous prayers for the Black Stars to triumph at the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil.

This was contained in a press release issued to the Daily Graphic in Accra yesterday.

He said the hardworking spirit, zeal, and determination of the national football team on winning the World Cup would make every Ghanaian, in particular, and Africans in general  proud.

He said in the previous participation of the Black Stars in the World Cup, “we saw the results of the high spirit of nationalism and patriotism when Ghanaians were joined by other African nationals in praying for Ghana.”

Shiekh Sharubutu also reminded them to thank the Al-Mighty Allah for taking the team to the World Cup in the past year’s, “and we pray that the Most Merciful and Compassionate God will see us through this year”.
