The Ghana team remain confident of progression at the 2014 World Cup despite their stuttering start and with a tough game against Germany fast on the horizon.

The Black Stars go into their second group game against the three-time winners on Saturday in desperate need of points following their opening 2-1 defeat to the United States.

Ghana face a possible early exit from the tournament which promised to be their best ever since their debut campaign at Germany 2006.

The massive disappointment from the USA defeat the prospect of an early exit threatens to psychologically distract the Black Stars players of their aim of salvaging their campaign against Germany this Saturday in Fortaleza.

But the Ghana FA’s spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara insists the team is only focused on doing what is required to qualify and not being bothered by the prospect of their early elimination.

“We are not thinking of elimination, we are thinking of getting results against Germany and then Portugal for us to qualify to the next stage,” Sannie Daara said.

“So there are no thoughts at all over elimination. We are strongly confident of getting the desired results needed for us to progress in this competition.”
