Ghana youth striker Ebenezer Assifuah was on hand once more for FC Sion as he struck the only goal of the game for them in their 1-0 narrow triumph over FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League on Tuesday night.

Despite FC Zurich dominating possession and creating avalanche of chances, it was Sion who did the necessary thing by scoring with their first real chance of the game in the 52nd minute through the 20-year-old Ghanaian striker.

Cypriot international Dimitris Christofi who had climbed off the bench before the restart at the Stade de Tourbillon made lightworks of two Zurich defenders, forcing his way through and pushing a pass for Assifuah who made no mistake in burying the ball beyond Yanick Brecher for his second goal on a row.

Sion's consistent results in the league has seen them rise above Aarau and totally clear of relegation with four games left to draw down the curtains on the season.

Winger Ishmael Yartey was unused and warmed the bench for the entire duration of the game.

Assifuah's goal has taken his season's tally to 5 in 10 games for Sion so far in the season.
