Ghana youth striker Ebenezer Assifuah was on hand once more for FC Sion as he struck the only goal of the game for them in their 1-0 narrow triumph over FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League on Tuesday night.

Despite FC Zurich dominating possession and creating avalanche of chances, it was Sion who did the necessary thing by scoring with their first real chance of the game in the 52nd minute through the 20-year-old Ghanaian striker.

Cypriot international Dimitris Christofi who had climbed off the bench before the restart at the Stade de Tourbillon made lightworks of two Zurich defenders, forcing his way through and pushing a pass for Assifuah who made no mistake in burying the ball beyond Yanick Brecher for his second goal on a row.

Sion’s consistent results in the league has seen them rise above Aarau and totally clear of relegation with four games left to draw down the curtains on the season.

Winger Ishmael Yartey was unused and warmed the bench for the entire duration of the game.

Assifuah’s goal has taken his season’s tally to 5 in 10 games for Sion so far in the season.

Massa, your time go come,Brazil is probably too early, there will definitely be some restructuring to the team after the world cup,the Muntaris,Essiens,KBPs have to decide whether to help the 2015 course or we bring in the new young fresh midfielders.

    • spellBOUND says:

true say viper. the future is bright. we pray for a smooth restructuring to incorporate the young ones seamlessly for 2015 and 2018..

      • Viper says:

True, have you seen Yussif Chibsah play? Sassuolo, I like the guy,I think he is good certainly not a finish article yet but looks promising and one to watch out for. Then there is Mohammed Abu who plays with Kwarasey, another one to watch out for.

  2. spellBOUND says:

eeeei, the young ones are on fire ooo….damn, Assifuah, Waris, Accam, Ayew…. shit, Brazil, watch out. lol

  3. Assisi says:

Our strikers for Brazil are: Gyan, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Waris, Accam, Assifuah, and Jordan Ayew.
We may need to trim the amount of defenders and midfielders to accommodate for six strikers.

    • Viper says:

There is no point taking six strikers, mind you, this is Ghana, our midfield can also chip in goals, the midfield has always been our strongest assets,we use that to our advantage,I think the coach should rather find a system that accommodates our best midfielders, four strikers at the world cup is enough for me.

  4. Assisi says:

Our strikers for Brazil should be six:
Gyan, Boakye Yiadom, Waris, Assifuah, Accam, and Jordan.
Six midfielders, six defenders, and three goalkeepers

  5. CEREBRAL says:

Gyan and Waris, have earned their place. Additional strikers will be determined by AA.

  6. OHENENANA says:

The provisional sqaud of 30 should be

    GOALKEEPERS
    Adam Kwarasey
    Stephan Adams(local)
    Ofori Antwi(u20)
    DEFENDERS
    Daniel Opare
    Jerry Akaminko
    John Boye
    Harrison Afful
    Samuel Inkoom
    Isaac Vorsah
    Jonathan Mensah
    Baba Rahman(u20)
    Kwabena Adusei(local)
    Nuru Sulley(local)
    MIDFIELDERS
    Michael Essien
    Kevin Prince Boateng
    Kwadwo Asamoah
    Andre Ayew
    Sulley Muntari
    Emanuel Agyemang Badu
    Wakaso Mubarak
    Christian Atsu
    Albert Adomah
    Frank Acheampong(u20)
    Clifford Aboagye(u20)
    STRIKERS
    Asamoah Gyan
    Majeed Waris
    Jordan Ayew
    Richmond Boakye(u20)
    Ebenezer Assifuah(u20)

Not all u20 and local players should go to brazil but its will be good if thy just come to training camp with the team to gain expirience so that they are ready when ghana needs them in the future

  7. 21guns says:

Ghana is bless with amazing talent,am patiently waiting for AA’s list

  8. Benito says:

Essifuah is doing good but I think is TIME is due for the black stars yet.is time Will surely come.

  9. Maxwell Johnson says:

@Assisi you’re totally wrong buddy, it will be suicidal to trim down the numbers of defenders & midfielders to accommodate for six strikers especially in midfield where our strength lies. Apart from Gyan who has scored lotta goals for us over the past few yrs you’ll realize that most of our goals have also come from the midfielders, Muntari for instance is the second highest scorer in this current BS generation with 20 goals. There are only 4 slots for the striking department and base on current form I will choose Gyan, Waris, RBY & Jordan. The likes of Assifuah, Accam & Affum can be put on standby. Dont forget Schlupp can also play as a striker when the need arises.
