Ghana striker Asaomah Gyan says he is amazed by his immense success at Al Ain despite being in the UAE over a short period of time.

The Black Stars captain passed the 100th goal mark for the Boss after hitting a brace in the 2-2 draw with Al Jazira on Thursday.

The 28-year-old has simply been a goal scoring machine for Al Ain since arriving from Sunderland in the summer of 2012 on an initial loan deal.

Gyan went on to win the UAE league title and picked up the top scorer’s award in his debut season in the Arabian Gulf League after which he was rewarded with a permanent swoop.

The former Udinese man improved his goalscoring form in the following season to help the side retain its league title while also keeping hold of his top scorer’s award.

Gyan is even astonished by his achievement in the UAE having now scored 101 goals for Al Ain under just two years of joining the side.

“I knew I was going to do well but not this soon,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Gyan now also leads the continental scoring chart in the Asian Champions League with seven goals as the competition heads into the knockout phase.

He expected to translate his massive club form to power Ghana out of a tough group at the World Cup in Brazil.

The Black Stars will kick off their campaign against the USA on June 16 in Natal before taking on Germany and Portugal as they look to take the world by storm once more again at the finals.
