Andre Ayew's good form for Marseille shows he is ready to excel at the 2014 World Cup

Ghana winger Andre Ayew has served warning of his intention to excel at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil by ending his goal drought in the French top-flight.

The Marseille play-maker ended his goal drought in style with a hat-trick as Marseille beat last-place Ajaccio 3-1 on Friday night.

Ayew was sidelined after picking up a knee injury with Ghana in November and had failed to score in eight games since returning in February.

He opened the scoring in the fourth minute, running on to center half Lucas Mendes' long ball down the left and lifting the ball neatly over Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.

He doubled Marseille's lead in the 60th when he headed in Dimitri Payet's cross and, after striker Gadji Tallo had pulled one back moments later, sealed the win when he slid in to poke home a cross from the right.

His heroics shows that Ayew is back in his elements that have served Ghana so well in matches that the Black Stars have excelled in in recent times.

Ayew will be an influential figure for the Black Stars if he keeps this form with the World Cup set to start in Brazil in June
