Ghana winger Andre Ayew has insisted Olympique Marseille ended the French season on a good note despite missing out of Europe on the final day of the season.

Marseille had to wait on the final match day to know whether to they would secure a European ticket but rivals Olympique Lyonnais victory at OG Nice dented their chances despite Andre Ayew inspiring them to victory against Guingamp at the Stade Velodrome.

"We wanted to qualify for Europe with the last game but it didn't happen nonetheless we played very well getting to the end of the season," he said in the post-match interview.
