Portugal coach Paulo Bento has named a strong 30-man provisional squad to face Ghana at the group stage of next month's World Cup with injured world best player Cristiano Ronaldo included in the team.

The strong 30-man squad was named on Tuesday evening hours before the FIFA deadline.

Real Madrid’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo expectedly made the squad despite nursing a minor injury.

The world best player is expected to recover way ahead of time before the finals commence on June 12 in Brazil.

Manchester United star Nani also made the provisional squad as well as the Real Madrid duo of Fabio Contrao and Pepe.

Joao Moutinho and Ricardo Quaresma and Hugo Almeida are the other stars that headline Paulo Bento’s squad.

Portugal will play friendly games against Greece, Mexico and the Republic of Ireland before moving into Brazil for the World Cup.

The Selecao will open their campaign at the World Cup against Germany before taking on the USA and then Ghana in the remaining Group G games.

Midfielders: André Gomes (Benfica), João Mário (Vitória FC), João Moutinho (Monaco), Miguel Veloso (D. Kiev), Raul Meireles (Fenerbahçe), Rúben Amorim (Benfica), William Carvalho (Sporting).
