Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso returned to action on Sunday after recovering from a slight injury, boosting his chances of being fit for the 2014 World Cup.

The 22-year-old was in action for Russian side Rubin Kazan when they were defeated 2-1 by giants CSKA Moscow in their league match on Sunday.

Wakaso came on a substitute in the 75th minute of the match taking over from Torbinski but could not prevent his side from losing the match away from home.

His return is a boost for Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah as he eyes a squad of fit players for the World Cup in June.

Wakaso picked up the injury during Rubin Kazan’s 2-1 win over Spartak Moscow last week.

He was replaced at half-time having picked up the knock in the Russian top-flight match as a precautionary measure.

The ex Espanyol man is expected to make Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Ghanaian was making his 11th league appearance of the season.

He was warming the bench at rubin before being injured. It seems this guy has gone to sleep after that splendid performance in the 2013 afcon in sa. May be his move to russia has not helped him and does not deserve a place in the bs at all. He decided to follow money and should suffer for it alone. If AA will depend on crurent form and think of any member of his team being a potential starter then i do not see why this guy should be part of his squad.
