Defender Daniel Opare has allayed his injury fears after limping off Ghana’s training session on Thursday ahead of the 2014 World Cup clash against Germany.

The 23-year-old hobbled off at the tail end of the Black Stars’ training session on Thursday afternoon at the Rei Pele Stadium in Maceio having emerged worse off in a collision with goalkeeper Fatau Dauda.

Opare needed the help of team doctor Baba Adamu to make his way into the team bus after the session – igniting fears he could easily miss Saturday’s game against Germany in Fortaleza.

The Standard Liege defender was however spotted walking without any aid in the Black Stars lobby later in the evening to ease fears over his injury concerns.

The ex Ghana U20 star believes he will return to full fitness in no time.

“It was just a knock in my thigh, I think I will be fine,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Sources however close to GHANAsoccernet.com have revealed a thorough assessment will be made on Opare’s injury to first ascertain the type of injury and then how long he will be out for.
