Kevin-Prince Boateng’s international career with Ghana has been thrown into serious doubt after Kwesi Appiah revealed on Wednesday that he’s no longer part of his future plans.

The 27-year-old has been suspended indefinitely after he clashed with the Ghanaian trainer during the failed 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil.

The Schalke ace is reported to have insulted coach Kwesi Appiah, which prompted the Ghana FA to slap him with an indefinite ban.

Addressing a packed media on Wednesday in Ghana's capital, Accra, the soft-spoken trainer has revealed he has shut the door on the former AC Milan man, at least for now.

"Managing the egos of players is a very difficult job. But when you realise the attitude of a player has become a distraction to the team, then you must wield the axe,"

"On the specific issue of Kevin-Boateng,  I will say that for now, he's not part of my plans.

"We have to look at the younger players who have shown tremendous commitment to the national team and work with them.

Boateng alongside his former Portsmouth colleague Sulley Muntari were expelled from the team on disciplinary grounds.

Muntari physically assaulted a Ghana FA top official in what the FA has termed as 'unprovoked' attack during a meeting to address their appearance fee row.

The Schalke midfielder only staged a return to the Black Stars in August 2013 after a two-year absence.

The Africans campaign at the global showpiece has been embroiled in massive controversy after players rebelled against unpaid monies owed and threatened to boycott their final group G game against Portugal.

They only rescinded their decision after $3 million was spectacularly flown to Brasilia to be shared among them in an unpopular 'soap opera' in the South American country.
