Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed he is looking forward to taking on Portugalââ¬â¢s Pepe during their 2014 FIFA World Cup finals Group G clash.
Gyan, who won the UAE Arabian Gulf League goal king, is one of the in-form players going to the tournament.
He scored 29 league goals and also top the scorers chart in the Asian Champions League with ten goals.
However, Gyanââ¬â¢s form has been downplayed with his critics saying he cannot stand some of the best defenders who play in the strongest league like Real Madridââ¬â¢s Pepe.
But the Al Ain is prepared for the one-on-battles in Brazil.
"Pepe is a world class defender who plays at a top level week in week out. We will take each game as it comes and give off our best to qualify from the group
"Once we get to Portugal, I am sure I will enjoy the personal battle with him (Pepe)." Gyan has scored four goals in two World Cup finals.
