Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has called for an improved performance against Germany on Saturday after defeat on Monday to USA.

The Black Stars were beaten 2-1 by the Americans in Natal and now face a mammoth task against a free-scoring German side.

They have returned to their camp base in Maceio and trained on Tuesday to prepare for the task ahead.

“We have to improve in the remaining games and that’s the target,” Gyan told the media.

“The defeat to the U.S is painful but we do not have time to lament we have to focus on our game against the Germans.”

Defeat to Germany will mean elimination for Ghana, who reached the quarter-finals in South Africa 2010.

    We have to note.

Playing in Europe doesn’t mean you are good enough for the national side.

We have to find a perfect mix of the best of our European based as well as our local players.

It’s not our BERTH RIGHT to perform well at intrnational touurnaments. You have to be prepared, physically, mentally and have players with high technical ability.

You can’t take any passengers on board, why did the coach take so many midfielders if not all are going to play? Why no shore up the defence?

I believe Silas Tetteh should take reigns of the national side,we allow him to build a formidable team for the next world cup. Most of the current players are his players anyway.

And I cannot say this enough, the current bunch of defenders are simply useless and need to be replaced.

I think the coach made a mistake with the defence,he should have used our first choice defence in all our friendlies.Very disappointed in John Boye and Jonathan Mensah, this is Mensah’s second world cup and for him be defending like an amateur is unacceptable. The least said about John Boye the better.wow.Schlupp should have made the squad.

I think Sumaila is the best of our defenders,he is mentally and physically strong than both. We can’t just simply throw him in against Germany, now we have to stick these pathetic duo, they really have to improve,I still cannot believe the defending exhibited by these two.Beyond pathetic.

I have been one of the biggest critics of Gyan over the past years, but this year, Gyan has do what he is supposed to do. He has led and done what a leader must do. BUT WHAT IS THE COACH SAYING. It is over 36 hours now, he has NOT come out to accept responsibility for the loss. Does he consider his selection to be a mistake or not? We need to know whether Kwasi Appiah is teachable or not. We need to know whether he is ready to learn or NOT!
