Ghanaà striker Asamoah Gyan has admitted he is thrilled after becoming the only African player to equalà Roger Millaââ¬â¢s record at theà World Cup finals.Ã
The 28-year-old scored a magnificent powerful half-volley in the 63rd minute to put theà Black Starsà ahead in their 2-2 draw withà Germanyà on Saturday.
That fabulous strike took Gyanââ¬â¢s World Cup finals goal tally to 5 and equalled a record held by Cameroonââ¬â¢s Roger Milla and unrivalled for a decade.
ââ¬ÅYes Iââ¬â¢m happy but Iââ¬â¢m the team captain and the teamââ¬â¢s success comes first but scoring here is great and personally Iââ¬â¢m happy,â⬠theà Al Ainà hit-man said in the post-match interview.
Gyan has also become the only African striker to score at three different World Cup finals.
