Ghana defender Daniel Opare is determined to bounce back from a not too convincing display in the 2-1 defeat against the USA on Monday night.

The Black Stars fell to a late header from rookie John Brooks to lose its opening Group G game at the 2014 World Cup in Natal.

Ghana had fought hard to draw level through Andre Ayew having been stunned in just the first minute by USA captain Clint Demsey.

The momentum gained by the Black Stars after the equalizer was however quickly dampened by Brooks’ thumping header which eventually proved to be the winner.

Daniel Opare emerged as one of the most criticized players from the Black Stars team that failed to extend its impressive winning record over the American at the World Cup.

But the Standard Liege full-back who is on his way to joining Portuguese giants FC Porto this summer in admitting to making some mistakes, says he is determined to improve on his performance.

“I think in the first half, on my side we did very well, creating all the crosses and all,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“But the Americans noticed this and started using more of my end in the second half so it made things a bit difficult.

“Everyone knows when he has a good or a bad game and immediately tries to correct the mistakes.”

Ghana must now secure a result against an in-form Germany team in their next game on Saturday to have any chances of progressing further in the competition.

The Black Stars will also need a result in the final Group G game against Portugal but will largely depend on the outcome of Saturday’s match against the three-time winners in Fortaleza.
