Coach Sam Arday has been tasked to monitor Ghana’s likely opponents at the Round of 16 stage at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars will face either Belgium, Algeria, Korea Republic or Russia if they manage to scale through the tough Group G where Germany, Portugal and the USA await.

Coach Kwesi Appiah named the experienced Ghanaian coach as a member of his backroom staff during the announcement of his World Cup squad.

Arday’s specific role will be to monitor the team’s likely opponents in the first knockout round in order to provide enough information which will be of help to the Black Stars’ technical team once they progresses from Group G.

“Coach Arday’s brief will be to monitor the group of our corresponding opponents in so that in the event we qualify for the next stage we have enough information about whichever opponent we face,” Kwesi Appiah told Metro FM.

Arday is joined by ex Ghana captain Stephen Appiah as the known members of Ghana’s backroom staff which also includes scouts, an additional doctor, physiotherapist and video analyst.
