Ghana defender David Addy has told GHANASoccernet.com he is playing under ââ¬Ëstrangeââ¬â¢ terms for his Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes that will see him play in big games.
The left-backââ¬â¢s decision not to renew his contract with the top-flight means he will feature in selected games as he heads to the exit.
Last week, a Portuguese publication claimed the Ghana international had been banished to the second team because of non-performance.
This news nearly jeopardized his chances of making Ghanaââ¬â¢s squad to the 2014 World Cup finals.
But the former Porto player has watered down those reports and explained reasons behind his irregularity.
ââ¬Å The coach and the club say there will use me in important matches because they have to groom the player who will replace me,â⬠Addy told GHANASoccernet.com
ââ¬ÅThe decision to train with the reserve side has nothing to do with my performance.
ââ¬ÅI have been a regular for this club and a key performance for the past two seasons so since when did I go bad?ââ¬
Addy has been linked with European sides especially clubs from the Germany and Crystal Palace.
