Ghana star Andre Ayew scored a sensational hat-trick to help Marseille to a 3-1 home victory Ajaccio in the French top-flight on Friday night.

Ayew’s heroics shows that the talented midfielder is regaining his top form going into the World Cup in Brazil in June.

Marseille went into the tie at the Stade Velodrome with a five-match winless run but they ended the streak thanks to the 24-year-old’s brilliance as he more than doubled his season’s tally by scoring thrice before expectant home fans.

Andre began his incredible night by springing the defence to latch onto a Lucas Mendes ball over the top, he was the picture of composure as he calmly lobbed the on-rushing Guillermo Ochoa with his third of the season and register the opener for Les Olympians.

The Black Stars winger definitely wanted more on the night as he was without a goal since the week 9 of the French top-flight and he tested the visitors’ keeper with a cracking drive in the 16th minute.

But he was unable to register a goal until the hour mark when he rose well to nod a Dimitir Payet pin-point cross from the right.

Gadji Tallo halved for the visitors almost immediately after Ayew’s second when he produced a cool near-post finish to burry Mehdi Mostefa’s blocked shot home in the 61st minute.

Tallo’s strike lifted the spirit of Ajaccio but Ayew dashed any further hopes of staging a comeback when he irresistibly finished off a Brice Dja Djédjé.

The Liverpool-target confidently shot the ball past the Ajaccio keeper to kill off the game with 14 minutes of regular time remaining.

Ayew’s hat-trick on Friday night mark his second career hat-trick – his first career hat-trick came in July 2011 when he got on the scoresheet thrice for Marseille in their 5-4 Super Cup victory over Lille at the Grand Stade de Tange.

For Ghana if thousands fall thousands will rise. We never say die till the end. Even our mid fielders can be main the strikers for some national teams. Brazil here we come. The world is about to witness the power of mighty Ghana….just like they witnessed when we won the u20 in Egypt.

  10. selfmade says:

This little guy can score with his head than any Ghanaian player! He can challenge any tall defender for the ball regardless of height or size and shows that Dede has a big heart and fearless!! I pray he reach his full potential becasus this young man is too matured for his age and destiny for far more bigger things in life!! I watched him and I can see a real leader! Infact Dede is a perfect example of a born leader! He is a very reasonable kid as compared to those who are born with silver spoon but can’t make a cent out of their life!! Some people are indeed born with GREATNESS!!

I watched the match and indeed dede was a delight to watch. He was given striking role in the match and he did it perfectly. I observed also that he was doing his usual clappings to inspire his team mates keep on fighting just as he did in the under 20 team to conquer the world. He looks more than the captain in the marseille team. Truly born leader. He will make a mark in brazil . Go dede, go blackstars, go ghana. Yes the lil-maestro is coming . Brazil beware !

  12. Nana(RSA) says:

I’ve always seen this in Dede. He is more of a striker than a winger. He has the strength, the dexterity and potency to score goals when given the slightest chance. Whether with the head or legs. When he is hungry, he makes defenders sweat. Bravo Dede, I know you have what it takes to go on top like your father if not surpassing him. I saw him playing and until today I’ve not seen a player of his calibre in the Black Star team until today. It is not for nothing that Kwabena Yeboah named him the maestro. Continue to work hard, may be you can give us another smile on the field of play.

    Poor Ghanaians, Idol worshipping again.

@nana,what are you doing in southern Africa??please leave our peaceful région alone ok.

  15. Pinkus says:

Bravo Dede. Right time to reach your pick. Dede was simply sharp like a razor. This is what we need for the World Cup. Let all BS players learn to sharpen their alertness and quickness in front of goal like Dede. In recent times only Louise Suarez can match this sharpness in front of goal. Bravo once again Dede, keep it up.

Andre Ayew, the Ghanaian international confirms that the news circulating in the media about his exit from the French club Marseille at the end of the season is just a rumor, there is no reality in it…
