Twenty five players trained in Friday’s session of the Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
This means no new addition was recorded despite the expected arrival of striker Emmanuel Baffour.
The Ghana Premier League top scorer was conspicuously missing for unknown reasons despite arriving from Turkey after medicals with Antalyspor on Wednesday night.
He has been expected at training since Thursday but has failed to show up - fueling speculations he will be dropped from the final squad that plays against Lesotho and Zambia on June 1 and June 9 respectively.
Midfielder Anthony Annan was also absent for the session for reasons yet to be disclosed.
He had reported to training on Thursday where he sat out the trial win over third tier side Prampram United.
There were also no injuries to report on despite crunching challenges in Friday’s session.
The team which has been in non-residential preparations since Monday will move to camp on Sunday in Kumasi after the squad had been pruned.
Gud work done by k.appiah bt why de absent of baffour n annan… Asem b3ba dabi….!
Our problem is not Lesotho but Zambia. We are playing at home against Lesotho, even Kotoko can easily beat them in Kumasi.
If AA didn’t beat them 3-5 goals then we are in serious trouble.

John Boye delighted to see Akaminko in the Stars
25 May, 2012
Rennes defender John Boye says he is delighted to see former central defensive partner Jerry Akaminko in the Black Stars at last.
Both players formed a formidable defensive backline for Heart of Lions some time back and Boye, speaking to Accra-based Hot FM, acknowledges the influence Manisaspor defender Akaminko has had on his career.
‘He is a very good player and I am happy to see him in the Black Stars. When we were with Lions, he taught me a lot and he is one of the reasons why I am what I am today.’
Boye added that for him to partner Akaminko in defence again for the Black Stars will be solely down to the coaching staff.
‘I am only a player and so I cannot take team decisions. If Akaminko and I are to play together again, that will depend solely on coach Kwasi Appiah and his staff.’
Akwasi Appiah really knows all our good players. Appiah will succeed if keeps to his criteria for calling up players. So far so good.
Ghana should beat Lesotho convincingly to justify their selections.
I love the intense competition in the team. Appiah promised to find solution to our left-back problem.
Lesotho will have a baptism of fire from the “new” black stars.
Being Appiah’s first match, we can’t GFA make it a free ticket to fill up Baba Yara just like what they did for our women against Tunisia. Come on GFA!!!!!
Why can’t GFA make it a free ticket? is what I meant to write.
Go Black Stars
Ghana will beat losotho n zambia
